Banijay Rights continues to expand the megaformat MasterChef brand, sealing deals for versions in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
The hit culinary competition is now at 74 adapting territories, Banijay Rights said.
In Uzbekistan, the series has received a ten-episode order from Zo’r TV, produced by New Media Group. In Azerbaijan, the series is headed to public broadcaster Ictimai TV, also with a ten-episode season.
“Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan represent exciting new frontiers for MasterChef, and it’s hugely rewarding to see the format’s footprint continue to grow not only there, but also across the world,” said Alexander Rubanov, VP for Romania, CIS, Ukraine, Georgia, Baltics, and Turkey at Banijay Rights, who brokered the deals. “With two strong broadcast partners in Zo’r TV and Ictimai TV, we’re confident these adaptations will delight local audiences.”
These new deals follow a flurry of activity for the long-running brand, including the return of MasterChef Asia, produced by Warner Bros Discovery and CreAsia Studio (a part of Endemol Shine India); the commission of MasterChef Nigeria for Primedia and a return to TVN in Chile.
