Animaj Secures Backing of Google’s AI Futures Fund

Google’s AI Futures Fund is investing in the next-generation kids’ media company Animaj to help power its AI animation capabilities.

Animaj will benefit from early access to Google’s most advanced generative AI models and will be able to collaborate with the Google teams on its AI-driven production workflows. The company, home to Pocoyo and Maya the Bee, among other brands, has made a big bet on using AI to speed up production—it produces full episodes from concept to YouTube release in under five weeks. Its AI-native studio platform combines its Audience Intelligence, Sketch-to-Pose, and Motion-In-Betweening tools.

Animaj has built a significant digital footprint, reaching 242 million unique monthly users on YouTube, using that data to build and scale new and returning IPs.

“Animaj exemplifies how AI can empower creators,” said Jonathan Silber, co-founder and director of Google’s AI Futures Fund. “Their AI-native approach shows how advanced technology can strengthen creative ambition, brand safety, and IP ownership. It’s a compelling blueprint for the future of kids and family entertainment.”

“This partnership marks a key milestone in our mission to build a next-generation media company—one where AI, creativity, and IP ownership reinforce each other,” said Sixte de Vauplane, CEO of Animaj. “With Google’s support, we’re accelerating our ability to create premium kids content faster, smarter, and more responsibly.”
