Maurizio Forestieri has regained full control of Graphilm Entertainment after selling a majority stake to the now bankrupt Cyber Group Studios in 2022.
Cyber Group Studios was declared insolvent in November 2024 and subsequently placed into liquidation to repay creditors, with the administrators rejecting four takeover bids.
In a LinkedIn post, Graphilm Entertainment said it had regained control of The McFire Family and Nefertine on the Nile, with a second season in the works. Both titles are currently in production with Rai Kids.
The Italian animation studio joined Cyber Group Studios in 2022, working with the then-powerhouse French animation producer and distributor on Alex Player and Nefertine on the Nile, among other properties.
Another Cyber Group-majority-owned entity, A Productions, followed a similar path at the end of last year.
Forestieri is listed as the sole owner of Graphilm Entertainment. He founded the studio in 1989.
