PBS KIDS has commissioned a second season of the Mighty Picnic series Lyla in the Loop for launch in 2027.
The second season will encompass 24 half-hour episodes and a special family reunion episode. The series, co-produced by Pipeline Studios, targets kids aged 4 to 8. Since its premiere, it has delivered more than 345 million streams across PBS KIDS video platforms and 110 million gameplays on the PBS Kids website and games app.
“Lyla in the Loop has become a favorite among our audience for its creative storytelling, innovative curriculum, close-knit group of family and friends, and, of course, the fantastical Stu,” said Sara DeWitt, SVP and GM at PBS KIDS and Education. “It’s now more important than ever to continue bringing safe, high-quality children’s media to kids across the country, and we’re thrilled to be able to do that with this fun, educational series.”
Dave Peth, series creator and showrunner, said, “We’re humbled by the ways that Lyla, Stu, and the whole Loops crew have authentically connected with kids and their grownups. We can’t wait to tell more stories that empower kids to tackle challenges with creativity and joy.”
