Meta Media Entertainment has secured a deal with Denmark’s MiniCosmos to handle the worldwide distribution rights, excluding the Nordics, to Ib the Dog, a book-based IP.
Catering to preschoolers, the series is inspired by the bestselling Danish books about a fun-loving dog and his everyday adventures. It has aired on several international platforms, including Nick Jr. and Paramount+, local broadcasters, and Kidoodle.TV in North America. A fourth season is currently in development.
Henrik Danstrup Holst, producer at MiniCosmos, said the deal with Meta Media “is a unique opportunity to share the lovely, optimistic Ib with even more children and families around the world.”
Jakob Stegelmann, programme buyer for the children’s department at DR, added, “He’s a dog with a mind of his own, a wonderfully quirky sense of logic and a kind disposition—and that’s what made me—and so many kids, fall in love with Ib and enjoy his animated adventures.”
Sara Cooper, founder at Meta Media Entertainment, says: “I am thrilled to be working with MiniCosmos on their marvellous series, Ib the Dog, and introducing more children around the world to Ib’s humorous and unique way of looking at life.”
