Nickelodeon Animation Studios is making a new Garfield series for Paramount+, with the iconic cat voiced by Lamorne Morris.
The new 2D series, tentatively titled Garfield, is based on Jim Davis’ original comic strip, which has more than 200 million daily readers and a huge social media following. Dave H. Johnson and John Trabbic III are executive producers.
The brand is part of the Paramount Products & Experiences portfolio, encompassing apparel, toys, publishing, food, and more. Nickelodeon’s then-parent, Viacom, acquired the IP in 2019 when it acquired Paws Inc.
The beloved cat has featured in films and has spawned two animated series, Garfield & Friends and The Garfield Show.
