The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, the animated feature from Avatar Studios inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender, will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ in the fall of 2026.
With a cast that includes Taika Waititi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Dee Bradley Baker, Freida Pinto and Ke Huy Quan, the film will head straight to streaming, skipping a theatrical run.
The Avatar Studios relationship with Paramount+ also includes the previously announced Avatar: Seven Havens, unveiled earlier this year as Nickelodeon marked the 20th anniversary of the launch of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Produced by Nickelodeon Animation, Avatar: Seven Havens consists of two 13×30-minute “books”. Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko serve as co-creators and executive producers. Ethan Spaulding is executive producer, and Sehaj Sethi is co-executive producer.
“The Avatar universe has captivated audiences for two decades, and Paramount+ is proud to be the exclusive streaming home for its beloved animated incarnation,” said Jane Wiseman, head of originals for Paramount+. “The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender and Avatar: Seven Havens represent the next evolution of storytelling from Avatar Studios—bringing together remarkable talent both in front of and behind the camera to deliver the epic adventures and emotional depth fans have come to expect. These additions, alongside The Legend of Korra and the original series, solidify Paramount+ as the destination for the animated Avatar Universe.”
