PowerKids Entertainment in Singapore is working with Las Vegas-based Cayenne Pepper Productions on The Blue Boy Chronicles, reimagining the story of the Hindu deity Krishna.
The animated series tells the story of Krishna as a young hero. Geared to kids 5-plus with a sweet spot of 6 to 13, it will be produced in English and Hindi. The series was conceived by producer Swati Bhisé, the owner of Cayenne Pepper Productions. Jeff Sager and Eric Steinhart wrote the script. PowerKids, led by CEO and MD Manoj Mishra, will co-produce The Blue Boy Chronicles, overseeing the production pipeline and leading global distribution and L&M efforts.
“The Krishna saga originates in India’s classical mythology, but its themes are universal,” Mishra said. “With The Blue Boy Chronicles, we are building a series that retains its cultural foundation while structuring it for global scale from day one.”
“The Blue Boy is any little boy who wants to be a leader and yet blend in,” said Bhisé. “Friendship remains at the core of these stories along with the joys of childhood.”
