Studio 100 International and Qvisten Animation have unveiled their first animated feature-film co-production, Nightling, set to be launched at the American Film Market (AFM).
Studio 100 Film is handling international sales on the family film, currently in production and scheduled for delivery in December 2027. It is Qvisten Animation’s most ambitious production to date and its first original animated feature produced in English.
Qvisten and Studio 100 already have two other animated features in pre-production and several projects in active development. Rally—From Paris to the Pyramids was launched by Studio 100 Film in 2025.
Thorsten Wegener, producer and director of business operations at Studio 100 International, commented, “This first co-production with Qvisten Animation marks an important step for Studio 100 International as we continue to build strong creative partnerships around the world. Qvisten combines outstanding creative talent with a proven production track record, and together we share a clear vision for storytelling that is ambitious, high-quality and designed to resonate with audiences globally. We are thrilled to bring Nightling to life together and see great potential for this to be the beginning of a long and successful collaboration.”
Fredrik Kiosterud, CEO of Qvisten Animation, added, “Business is between people. And in Studio 100 International, we found the people, the expertise, and the international focus we have been seeking in recent years. The partnership has truly solidified with Nightling, and we look forward to co-productions, development, and distribution with Studio 100 International in the years ahead. In our industry, independent studios must stand together to deliver high quality to an international audience; that is why the collaboration with Studio 100 International is of great importance to Qvisten and the Nightling production.”
