AMC Global Media has secured the U.S. streaming rights to the Catherine Zeta-Jones-led thriller Kill Jackie, co-produced by Steel Springs Pictures and Fremantle.
Peter Lawson, founder of Steel Springs, and Lorenzo De Maio of De Maio Entertainment negotiated the deal and co-manage U.S. sales, with Fremantle handling all other markets.
The series is based on the novel The Price You Pay by Nick Harkaway and is co-created by Conor Keane, Tom Butterworth, Peter Lawson, and Damon Thomas. Harkaway (son of John le Carré, writing under the pen name Aidan Truhen), serves as executive consultant. Also set to be available on Prime Video in the U.K., Ireland, the Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, and Canada, the series will stream on AMC+ in the U.S.
“Kill Jackie is a standout addition to AMC+’s curated slate of premium scripted content, and a great example of the bold, character-driven storytelling for which we are known,” said Dan McDermott, chief content officer of AMC Global Media and president of AMC Studios. “Catherine Zeta-Jones commands the screen with a magnetic leading performance, and we’re thrilled to be working with her and the entire producing team to bring this daring, dark, comedic thriller to U.S. audiences.”
Lawson, founder of Steel Springs Pictures, added, “AMC has built an exceptional reputation for championing bold, premium storytelling, making it the ideal home for this series. We couldn’t be more excited for viewers to experience Kill Jackie on AMC+.”
