Anna Pigeon, a crime procedural for USA Network and Bell Media, has notched up several deals for Cineflix Rights, including with UKTV.
Ahead of its international launch at MIPCOM, the series is headed to UKTV’s U&Drama, SBS (Belgium), Disney+ (Portugal), CANAL+ (Czech Republic and Slovakia), TET (Latvia), and Pickbox (Balkans).
The ten-part production is based on the New York Times best-selling novels by Nevada Barr. It launched in the U.S. as the number one new cable scripted series of the year, becoming USA Network’s biggest original scripted launch in nearly eight years. It is produced by Cineflix and SEVEN24 Films for USA Network in association with Bell Media.
Sandra Piha, SVP for sales, pan-regional, U.K., Eire, and Nordics at Cineflix Rights, who brokered the UKTV deal, said, “Anna Pigeon has been a huge hit in North America, with viewers really taking Anna to their hearts. We’re delighted to be rolling out the series to international audiences starting with these sales to the U.K., Europe, the Baltics, and the Balkans, with more to be announced shortly.”
The deals were negotiated by Cineflix’s various regional sales leads, including Chris Bluett (SBS Belgium), Sabrina Ayala (Disney+ Portugal), and Lucy Rawson (CANAL+, TET, and Pickbox).
