The Ridge, a psychological thriller distributed by Boat Rocker Studios, has been acquired by AMC Global Media’s Acorn TV in the U.S.
The platform has secured exclusive U.S. streaming rights to the six-part series produced by Great Southern Studios and Sinner Films, in association with Boat Rocker Studios. It arrives on the platform later next month in a deal brokered by Brad Horvath, VP of content sales and distribution at Boat Rocker Studios, and Don Klees, SVP of programming at Acorn TV.
Created by novelist Nora Chassler and David Murdoch and co-written with Alan Campbell, the drama is exec produced by Boat Rocker Studios’ David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg, alongside Jon Rutherford and Erik Pack. It was commissioned by Sky New Zealand and BBC Scotland, with Boat Rocker Studios handling worldwide distribution.
“The Ridge features standout performances, a captivating setting that itself serves as another character, and twists and turns that will keep viewers guessing,” said Rutherford, president of global content and rights at Boat Rocker Studios.
“Acorn TV champions storytelling that pushes the boundaries of suspense, and The Ridge delivers on that promise,” said Courtney Thomasma, AMC Global Media’s EVP of linear and streaming. “This psychological thriller offers the kind of smart, character‑driven storytelling and rich atmosphere our viewers love.”
