Father Brown Lands Two New Seasons

BBC Studios Drama Productions is making two new seasons of Father Brown for BBC One and iPlayer.

Mark Williams returns to lead the cast of the light crime series, with production on season 14 underway in the Cotswolds for broadcast early next year. A transmission date for season 15 will be revealed at a later date.

The series, on air since 2013, is the U.K.’s top-rated daytime drama and has sold well around the world, including to the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, Italy, Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Hungary, Poland, Turkey, South Korea, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Japan. BBC Studios is handling global sales.

Helen Munson, commissioning editor at the BBC, remarked: “We are delighted to be working with BBC Studios again to give the devoted fans two more series of our crime-fighting cleric. With top-notch writing, fabulous cast, and the beautiful Cotswolds as the backdrop, it’s no wonder that Father Brown continues to be a firm favorite with audiences all over the world.
