A joint number one scripted format for the 2020s, according to K7’s latest Tracking the Scripted Giants report, yes Studios’ Your Honor is being remade in Brazil.
The first LatAm adaptation for the show, originally titled Kvodo in Israel, is being made by Brazil’s Teleimage. This will be the 14th version following the U.S., France, Germany, Spain, Italy, South Korea, Turkey, Russia, India, Hong Kong, Ukraine, Poland, and Greece.
Teleimage has adapted several non-scripted formats and produced The American Guest for HBO Max Brazil. Eliane Ferreira, director of business and content of Teleimage, noted, “We are thrilled with the opportunity of bringing to life a Brazilian version of Your Honor. Since the first time this possibility was shown to us, we were immediately confident that this project would resonate strongly with Brazilian audiences and make an impact on both domestic and regional markets. Your Honor has a perfect mix of what Brazilian audiences mostly enjoy: a strong story structure, filled with unexpected twists, intense pacing, and characters so vivid that one could expect them to pop out of the screen. I couldn’t think of a better fit.”
Sharon Levi, managing director of yes Studios, added: “We are so proud to continue Your Honor’s ongoing international journey with our new partners at Teleimage and are excited to work with its talented team to develop this standout series for one of the biggest television markets in the world. The incredible twists and turns in the plot of Your Honor, coupled with its central focus around family, especially the unbreakable bonds between parents and their children, will – we hope – prove a powerful draw for audiences in Brazil.”
The series was created by Ron Ninio and Shlomo Mashiach and produced by yes TV and Koda Communications.
