Boho, a Flemish comedy-drama from jonnydepony, has been licensed by Banijay Rights to Dutch public broadcaster NPO for BNNVARA.
This is the first international deal for the series from the Banijay Benelux label. It was created by Abbie Boutkabout as a Streamz original.
“Boho has charmed Flemish audiences with its warm, witty take on female friendship and in it, has discovered a bold new voice in Abbie Boutkabout,” said Alex Le Merle, SVP of sales for Benelux at Banijay Rights. “This acclaimed comedy-drama from jonnydepony feels fresh and universally resonant, with culturally relevant themes, and NPO couldn’t be a better place to start introducing it to the world.”
Helen Perquy, CEO at jonnydepony, added, “Using humor, music and a visually striking backdrop, Abbie Boutkabout’s creative vision, brought to life by director Olympia Allaert, inspires audiences to embrace life’s possibilities. From the outset, we believed these characters and their stories would connect with audiences well beyond Antwerp, and NPO is the ideal home to bring the series to a wide audience in the Netherlands.”
