Netflix has licensed some 20 shows from Paramount Global Content Distribution, with the agreement covering titles for both the U.S. and international markets.
Netflix revealed the deal in its letter to shareholders yesterday, alongside its Q4 financials. It includes Matlock and King of Queens for international territories and Seal Team, Watson, and Mayor of Kingstown for the U.S. and international territories. The platform did not reveal the full slate of shows licensed and has not shared any rollout details yet, or territories covered in the alliance.
“In 2026, we’ll expand our offering of licensed titles,” the streamer said, referencing its new U.S. licensing pact with Universal, the Paramount series deal, and the pay-1 pact with Sony Pictures Entertainment. “This partnership marks the first time that a distribution service will premiere theatrical films in the pay-1 window simultaneously on a global basis, with Netflix’s footprint expanding each year as Sony’s regional deals expire, with full global availability in early 2029,” the platform noted.
The streamer also pointed to the success of creators on the platform, notably Ms. Rachel and Mark Rober’s CrunchLabs. “This year, we’ll work with a broader set of creators and introduce new programming formats, like video podcasts.”
