Patricia Riggen and Gabriel Ripstein are developing a series for Netflix that explores the turbulent lives of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera.
The series will be produced by Mónica Lozano of Alebrije Producciones and adapted from the work by Claire Berest under the guidance of María Renée Prudencio as head writer.
“This series reminds us that, despite the passage of time, we are still driven by the same forces: the irreducible desire to live, to love without half-measures, and to seek in art a way to survive pain,” Netflix said in announcing the series.
