The highly anticipated Baywatch reboot for FOX is headed to Stan in Australia courtesy of a deal with Fremantle that also includes Element Pictures’ You Are Here and Red Planet Pictures’ The Only Suspect.
Stan unveiled its new slate at its Upfronts presentation today.
“Stan has a strong track record of bringing premium international storytelling to Australian audiences, making them a natural home for these three series,” said Paul Ridley, SEVP for international distribution at Fremantle. “Each is a very different series, brought to life by some of the brilliant producers across the Fremantle family, but all have something special that we believe will really resonate in Australia. Together, they showcase the breadth, quality and ambition of Fremantle’s scripted slate.”
Cailah Scobie, Nine’s executive director of entertainment content acquisitions, streaming and broadcast, added, “Our partnership with Fremantle continues to bring world-class international content to Stan, and this new lineup is one of our most exciting yet. From the Baywatch reboot to the emotional You Are Here starring Claire Foy and Matthew Macfadyen, and the compelling mystery of The Only Suspect, these titles are incredibly unique and reflect our commitment to delivering premium, high-caliber drama to Australian audiences.”
The 12-episode new version of Baywatch is produced by Fremantle and FOX Entertainment with a cast that includes Stephen Amell, Jessica Belkin, Shay Mitchell, Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone, Noah Beck and Brooks Nader.
You Are Here is an eight-part adaptation of David Nicholls’ best-selling novel of the same name with Matthew Macfadyen and Claire Foy.
Red Planet’s The Only Suspect unfolds across two timelines, with a cast led by Kevin McKidd.
