In a bid to champion new Chinese-language scripted series, Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Asia Pacific has entered into a talent-development initiative with Youku.
The Warner Bros. Discovery Access x Youku Script To Series initiative is open to storytellers worldwide. It will provide talent with mentorship, creative guidance, and a pathway to global production opportunities. Up to five creative teams will be selected to develop original series over a six-month period. The program includes development labs in Beijing as the teams create series bibles, episode one scripts, and proof of concept films. One project will progress to formal development, with the potential to move into a full drama production with local and international premiere opportunities. The application process closes on January 9.
This is the first Asia-Pac initiative for WBD Access, the development program connecting talent to WBD content and brands, which has been implemented in the U.S., Latin America, EMEA, and the U.K.
