WEBTOON Productions and Espotlight have sealed a first-look deal for Spanish-language film and TV adaptations of Wattpad webnovels.
Both companies worked with Sony Pictures International on Boulevard, based on the Wattpad series of the same name, which has over 160 million reads. The film is now streaming on Prime Video after its theatrical release in Spain, Latin America, and the U.S.
Espotlight’s credits include Cortafuego on Netflix, Los Farad and Dime Tu Nombre on Prime Video, and You Would Do It Too on Disney+.
Several Spanish-language Wattpad webnovels have already been adapted by WEBTOON Productions, including Ariana Godoy’s A través de mi ventana (Netflix) and Sigue Mi Voz (Prime Video), Mala Influenica (Netflix), and the upcoming Perfectos Mentirosos (Prime Video).
