Ballon d’Or Ceremony to be Carried on DAZN

The Ballon d’Or ceremony, taking place on October 26 to honor football’s top athletes, will be available for free on DAZN in most global markets.

The sports streamer has non-exclusive rights in Turkey and Andorra. France, Spain, Norway, and CEE markets are not covered in the global deal.

The Ballon d’Or is marking its 70th anniversary of celebrating football’s top players. In addition to being a media partner, DAZN is also serving as the Global Gold sponsor in the Sports Broadcast Services and Sports OTT Services categories. DAZN’s channels will also feature related programming in the build-up to the ceremony.

“The Ballon d’Or is one of the most iconic events in football and a celebration of the players who inspire fans around the world,” said Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group. “We are delighted to welcome the Ballon d’Or back to DAZN and to make it available free to fans in 200 markets globally. As the global home of sport, fans come to DAZN for some of the biggest events and best viewing experiences, and the Ballon d’Or is a perfect addition to our comprehensive football portfolio. It’s a great example of how DAZN connects fans with the defining moments of the beautiful game.”

Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Bodø/Glimt, Flamengo, and PSG are in the running for Men’s Club of the Year. Visit the Ballon d’Or website for the full short list revealed today.
