Matt Brittin, formerly president of Google EMEA, has been tapped as Director-General of the BBC, succeeding Tim Davie on May 18.

The BBC has issued a 100-page response to the U.K. government's Charter Review consultation, calling for "bold choices" to secure the long-term health of the public-service-media ecosystem.

Tim Davie will stand down as director-general of the BBC on April 2, with the pubcaster tapping Rhodri Talfan Davies to fill the post on an interim basis until a permanent successor is named.
