Creator-led content outfit PAVE Studios has unveiled Rewind, a brand focused on history that launches with Hidden History, hosted by Dr. Harini Bhat, on YouTube and as an audio podcast.
Launched two years ago, PAVE has rolled out Crime House for true-crime stories, and Open Mind, focused on unfiltered personalities, building a stable of shows that include Clues, Khloé in Wonder Land, and Murder True Crime Stories. Its creator network reaches more than 350 million followers/subscribers, including 50 million at Crime House alone.
Rewind aims to showcase at least five new originals this year, developed and owned by PAVE Studios. It has aligned with Connor Tomlinson (Love on the Spectrum), Greg Jackson (History That Doesn’t Suck), Harini Bhat (Today I Learned Science), and Lindsey Cormack (author of How to Raise a Citizen (And Why it’s Up to You to Do It). Hidden History with Bhat premieres May 11, and Government That Doesn’t Suck, co-hosted by Jackson and Cormack, premieres in July.
“Creators are no longer just a part of the entertainment industry,” said Max Cutler, PAVE’s founder, “They are the entertainment industry. The studios that thrive in this new era will be the ones built to amplify multi-hyphenate storytellers across every format, from long- and short-form video to audio and social. History has proven itself as a genre that attracts big, loyal audiences interested in high-quality programming. The creators we are choosing to work with have unique voices that we believe will be a strong foundation on which we will build Rewind into our next big brand.”
