As APOS wrapped in Bali today, ReelShort revealed a strategic alliance with Filipino telco Globe, stepping up its Southeast Asian expansion effort.
The move will enable Globe’s extensive customer footprint to access ReelShort’s microdrama library, consisting of almost 3,000 titles. The deal comes two months after ReelShort’s alliance with Thailand’s AIS.
“Southeast Asia is one of the most exciting mobile entertainment markets in the world, and the Philippines sits right at the heart of that opportunity,” said Joey Jia, CEO of Crazy Maple Studio, owner of ReelShort, who was in Bali this week to speak at APOS. “Following the tremendous response we received in Thailand, partnering with Globe in the Philippines is a significant milestone in our regional growth strategy. As the world’s most mobile-engaged market, Filipino audiences are perfectly suited to the mobile-first Hollywood-style storytelling experience that ReelShort delivers. Our partnership with Globe reinforces our commitment to bringing premium, binge-worthy entertainment to audiences across Southeast Asia.”
KD Dizon, Globe’s CMO, added, “People are looking for some moments of joy that uplift their lives and get them through the day. We’re very happy to deliver on that with ReelShort, bringing mobile-first, world-class digital experiences to our customers. Our partnership with ReelShort introduces a new category of premium, singable content that reflects evolving consumer habits and further strengthens Globe’s position as a leader in digital lifestyle.”
