Banijay’s Temptation Island Set for Danish Adaptation

Temptation Island has landed its 28th adaptation, with Banijay Entertainment landing a deal that sees Mastiff Denmark (part of Banijay Nordic) making a local version for Viaplay.

The long-running format originated in the U.S. in 2001 and continues to fare well in key markets, including in Spain on Telecinco, Netflix in the U.S., Belgium on Streamz and the Netherlands with Prime Video.

Kristian Farcin-Leth, CEO of Mastiff Denmark, noted, “Temptation Island is a standout format that captivates audiences with its emotional intensity, compelling relationships, and dramatic twists. Our adaptation will place Danish couples front and center within a big, bold production that fully embraces the format’s signature scale and distinctive storytelling.”

Lucas Green, chief content officer, operations, at Banijay Entertainment, added, “Temptation Island remains one of our most powerful global reality brands, consistently delivering both ratings and cultural conversation. Its ability to evolve across a variety of platforms, and for a range of local audience tastes, is key to its longevity, and the launch in Denmark marks a promising new chapter for the format.”
