Dominic West and Clarke Peters, who starred together on The Wire, are set to travel across Kyrgyzstan’s Silk Road in a new doc from Blink Films that Blue Ant Rights will be launching at the London TV Screenings.
Beyond The Silk Road follows West and Peters as they join their expert guide, Alexandra Tolstoy, on an adventure that includes staying in yurts, engaging in traditional sports and rituals, and traveling on horseback. Set to be screened in London with West and Peters in attendance, it will be available as a two-part doc or a 90-minute special.
Justine Kershaw, creative director at Blink Films, noted, “Dominic and Clarke’s deep friendship, thirst for adventure, and real purpose make Beyond The Silk Road not only incredibly entertaining but timely. With all the craziness going on in the world right now, this film is just the tonic we need.”
“Dominic and Clarke take us on a journey that feels deeply personal, with the documentary offering audiences unique access to a way of life few outsiders ever experience,” said Barnaby Shingleton, SVP of acquisitions at Blue Ant Studios. “It’s exactly the kind of premium, authored documentary that resonates with audiences worldwide, and we’re proud to be launching and distributing the film globally.”
