Spirit Studios, Hearst Networks, and BossaNova Media have joined forces on two new true-crime docs after the success of Ed Gein: Original Psycho, unveiling titles on Lizzie Borden and Aileen Wuornos.
Ed Gein: Original Psycho became Crime+Investigation’s number one title in October 2025 and its third biggest release of the year.
Lizzie Borden: 40 Whacks, a 90-minute special, revisits the 1892 murders of Andrew and Abby Borden, using rediscovered police interrogation files. Aileen Wuornos: Damsel of Death, a two-parter, explores America’s most notorious female serial killer using FBI case files and first-hand testimony from Brian Jarvis, the lead detective who investigated Wuornos. Both will air on Crime+Investigation in the U.K., with BossaNova Media handling international distribution.
