Netflix has commissioned its latest local Love Is Blind adaptation, bringing the hit dating format to Canada.
The streamer has launched 11 versions so far: Brazil, Japan, Sweden, Mexico, the U.K., Habibi, Argentina, Germany, France, Italy, and Poland. The Canadian version is set to air next year.
Love Is Blind: Canada will be executive produced by Erin Brock, co-chief content officer and EVP of Insight Productions, alongside Jessica Brunton and John Brunton.
“I’m beyond excited to delve into this with a Canadian cast who are genuinely open to finding their soulmates, and to share their unique stories and authentic experiences,” Brock said. “I’m one of the gazillion day-one diehards who know how brilliant this format is, and we’re so honored to partner with Netflix.”
“Love Is Blind has transformed how people fall in love around the world,” added Danielle Woodrow and Tara Woodbury, directors of content at Netflix in Canada. “Now it’s Canada’s turn to bring the romance, drama, and a whole new set of unforgettable love stories.”
