Channel 4 Prebuys Two Colorized History Docs from Woodcut Media

Hitler’s Games: Berlin 1936 in Color and The Space Race in Color from Woodcut Media have been presold to Channel 4.

Delivering historical analysis and colorized archive footage, the two docs are currently in production and follow on from the success of Woodcut’s Titanic in ColorThe Race for Ancient Egypt in ColorBritain’s Railway Empire in Color, and The Manhattan Project in Color. Jonathan Mayo produces with Kate Beal as EP. Tom Adams is on board as EP on the two-part The Space Race in Color.

“Whether capturing the technological feats of the Space Race or the political theatre of the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games, the colorization of the archive reveals these defining moments as living, human stories rather than distant historical events,” Mayo said.
