Forensic Files to Return with New Episodes

Content Partners and Radial Entertainment are working together on 20 new episodes of Forensic Files, jointly financing the new season, with Radial handling worldwide distribution and ITV America producing.

Content Partners acquired the Forensic Files catalog of 400 episodes (14 seasons) in 2024.

“Forensic Files helped define true crime television, and its focus on science and evidence continues to resonate with one of the most loyal audiences in the genre,” said David Buoymaster, chief investment officer at Radial Entertainment. “Working with Content Partners to create new episodes is a natural next step in our relationship and an opportunity to build on the series’ legacy.”

“From the outset, we saw an opportunity to build on the extraordinary history of Forensic Files,” said Scott Hemming, EVP at Content Partners. “Radial shares our commitment to the series, and with ITV America’s production expertise, we’re excited to bring audiences new investigations with the scientific detail and clarity that have made ‘Forensic Files’ a tentpole of unscripted television.”

“Forensic Files stands alongside an elite few true crime franchises that have captivated viewers for decades,” said ITV America EP Shawn Witt. “We have enormous respect for what made the original so special and are excited to collaborate with Radial and Content Partners to carry that legacy forward with all-new episodes spotlighting fresh, compelling investigations.”

In other Radial news, the company has announced a third season of Making a Serial Killer, an original produced in partnership with the U.K.’s FirstLookStudios. Radial has secured exclusive rights in all media for across the U.S., Canada, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. It arrives in December on FilmRise channels and additional platforms in the US.

“We’re focused on building lasting true crime franchises with international appeal, and FirstLookStudios has been a fantastic partner in bringing that vision to life,” said Cristina Guggino, VP for originals and content partnerships at Radial Entertainment. “Making a Serial Killer delivers on that strategy by examining the mind of the killer without losing sight of the human impact. We’re excited to bring a third season to audiences across the U.S., Canada, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.”

Will Hanrahan of FirstLookStudios called the show a “proven winner with true crime audiences and our partnership with Radial is one we value as an example of fantastic editorial, commercial and strategic collaboration.”
