MIP London has showcased its comprehensive program for executives in the formats space, including an edition of The WIT’s Fresh TV, presentations by Talpa Studios and Global Agency, and three sessions focused on Korean IP.
MIP London returns for its second edition at IET London and The Savoy from February 22 to 24. The formats strand will encompass market intel, panels, screenings and showcases. Things kick off with a buyer-focused agenda on Sunday, including a Fresh TV presentation by Virginia Mouseler, CEO of The WIT, plus a Japan in Fresh TV session. Ampere Analysis and Glance will also deliver insights on trends.
Talpa Studios’ session will explore how formats can be developed and produced more efficiently with Jasper Hoogendoorn, chief creative officer, and Sebastian van Barneveld, director, global distribution at Talpa Studios. Global Agency’s Izzet Pinto will be in London to present the company’s new music contest, The Mashup.
The sessions focused on Korean IP include a KOCCA showcase and a scripted-formats-focused presentation from CJ ENM and Fifth Season.
MIP London has also convened a panel on platform priorities, budget pressures and distribution models with RTL Belgium’s Maria-Pia Defourny, Something Special’s Hayoung Rhee and Banijay’s James Townley, moderated by Nathalie Wogue. A FRAPA-presented panel wiill feature Banijay’s Helen Greatorex, BBC Studios Nordic Productions’ Lisette Van Diepen and Seefood TV’s Aleksander Herresthal, with an introduction by Andre Renaud and Nick Smith and moderated by David Ciaramella.
The delegate list at MIP London has now topped 1,100, including more than 600 buyers.
