Blue Ant Media has unveiled original programming highlights for its specialty channels in the 2026-27 season, spanning the mystery, paranormal, history, space, pets, and wildlife genres.
The shows, a mix of new commissions and renewals, will roll out across Cottage Life, T+E, BBC Earth, and Smithsonian Channel in 2026-27, followed by global streaming channels, with Blue Ant Rights handling international distribution.
“We’re continuing our momentum as a public company with a slate of homegrown, globally relevant originals that spotlight Canadian creatives shaping what audiences watch next,” said Craig Junner, SVP of programming and content strategy for global channels and streaming at Blue Ant Media. “Blue Ant’s integrated model brings local stories to platforms around the world, first by premiering in Canada on our specialty TV networks, then by rolling out across our own global streaming platforms in addition to international sales to global partners through our distribution arm, Blue Ant Rights.”
The 2026-27 slate includes, for Smithsonian Channel in Canada, History Unsolved: The Investigation Files, Angkor: Hidden Jungle Empire and a new season of Hitler’s Last Stand. Paranormal Nation: Guardians, a Blue Ant Media and APTN co-production, is headed to T+E, while a Cosmic Vistas reboot is being prepared for BBC Earth. For Cottage Life, Blue Ant has slated Pet Search and Rescue and the return of Mysteries from Above.
