Boat Rocker Studios has greenlit three new unscripted originals, including Cities of Mass Construction, which will be launched to the global market at MIPCOM.
All three are fully financed by the company as it leans into a strategy of investing in IP ownership, and were developed in-house by a team led by Natalie Vinet, SVP, global sales and content, unscripted, and Joey Case, senior director of creative affairs, unscripted.
“There is consistently strong global demand for unscripted series about historical enigmas, undiscovered societies and engineering triumphs,” said Jon Rutherford, president of global content and sales at Boat Rocker Studios. “Boat Rocker is committed to financing the development and production of content that we believe in, and that we know will be watched by global audiences.”
Cities of Mass Construction, currently in production, explores the birth stories of 16 cities across eight episodes. It is written by Phillip Daniels, Craig Colby, Denis Seguin, and Christopher Nelson and produced by Daniels, with Boat Rocker Studios’ co-founders Ivan Schneeberg and David Fortier alongside Rutherford and Case.
Currently in pre-production are Empires: Lost & Found and Treasures: Lost & Found.
