The recently launched SVOD platform Mercury Kids has picked up Ánima Kitchent’s preschool IP Cleo & Cuquín for the U.S.
“Mercury Kids gives Cleo & Cuquín a dedicated new space to grow with U.S. families,” said Miguel Aldasoro, international sales and co-production director at Ánima Kitchent. “After connecting with audiences across YouTube, streaming services, broadcasters, and global kids’ platforms, we are excited to bring the brand to a platform that shares our commitment to safe, positive, family-centered entertainment.”
Mercury Kids is positioning itself as a home for “joyful, trusted, and meaningful kids’ entertainment,” a representative said. “Cleo & Cuquín is a perfect fit because it celebrates family, curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, and the kind of positive everyday adventures that children and parents can enjoy together.”
Originally inspired by a Spanish children’s property from the 1960s, the series first landed in 2018. Today, the franchise has a significant YouTube presence at 75 million subscribers, 42 billion views, and more than 2.7 billion hours of watch time, in addition to its broad coverage across linear and streaming with partners such as Netflix, HBO Max, Prime Video, TelevisaUnivision, Clan RTVE in Spain and more.
