UK Pavilion Returns to Annecy

The UK Pavilion is returning to Annecy this week, hosted by Animation UK and supported by the BFI, with National Lottery funding through the ScreenUK Industry umbrella.

The pavilion will play host to a range of producers, investors and agencies keen to explore collaboration and co-production opportunities, with 100-plus meetings booked. There is also a networking event hosted by Animation UK.

Companies taking part at the UK Pavilion include Aardman, with its founders, Peter Lord and David Sproxton, visiting the hub with Oscar-winning director Nick Park. The U.K. pavilion will also see visits from the recently appointed Chair of the Industry Animation UK Council and joint Chair of the UK Screen Alliance.

Annecy will also feature U.K.-originated or partnered work across immersive storytelling, short films, commissioned work, feature projects and special events.

Kate O’Connor of Animation UK said, “Annecy is the world’s most important meeting point for animation, and the U.K. arrives this year with so much to celebrate. From emerging voices and bold new work to the extraordinary international legacy of Aardman, U.K. animation continues to create characters, stories and worlds that travel. The UK Pavilion is here to make those connections practical. We want to help studios, producers, commissioners, funders and partners from around the world meet the U.K. sector, understand the opportunities, and build the collaborations that will shape the next generation of animated work.”
