Sky in the U.K. has secured the rights to the entire Little Princess catalog from Banijay Kids & Family Distribution, which has also notched up several other deals for the preschool animated series.
Produced by The Illuminated Film Company, the series is headed to Sky UK in a deal that includes all seasons and specials. Plus, Nordisk Film took seasons one to three and the specials for SVOD across the Nordics; RTV Slovenia acquired seasons one and two; and TIM picked up seasons one and two for its Italian streaming platform aggregator, TIMVISION.
Julia Rowlands, SVP of sales, co-productions and acquisitions at Banijay Kids & Family, noted, “Across the industry, we’re seeing continued demand for trusted, established IP that can cut through in an increasingly crowded landscape. With a new U.K. home on Sky and partners across Europe, Little Princess demonstrates the enduring value of distinctive characters and storytelling that audiences know and love.”
The book-based IP first launched in 2006 and has since traveled to more than 140 territories worldwide.
