Olivier Dumont Joins Animaj Board

Hasbro Entertainment alum Olivier Dumont has been appointed to the board of directors at Animaj as the kids’ and family entertainment venture looks to build its portfolio of original IPs.

Dumont was most recently president of Hasbro Entertainment, joining the toy giant after its acquisition of eOne Family Brands. He previously held senior positions at TV-Loonland, Saban/Disney, Canal J, and Lagardere.

Animaj, home to the Pocoyo and Maya the Bee brands, is expanding its slate of brand-new properties for a digital-first audience and will be tapping into Dumont’s long history of content creation and franchise building in the international market.

“Kids’ entertainment is undergoing a structural shift,” said Sixte de Vauplane, CEO of Animaj. “The winners of the next decade won’t be the companies that simply own IP, but those that know how to create franchises natively for digital platforms. Olivier has been behind some of the most successful kids’ brands of the past 30 years, and his perspective is exactly what we need as we scale the next wave.”

Dumont added, “There’s a real opportunity to build the next generation of kids’ franchises differently. Animaj has the audience, the data, and the mindset to do it.”
