Federation Kids & Family and ZDF Studios have secured several deals for season one of The Lady Grace Mysteries, as well as presales for the recently greenlit second season.
Season one, which launched on the BBC earlier this year, has been licensed to RAI in Italy, Japan’s NHK, HOT in Israel, ABC in Australia, Radio-Canada, RTS in Switzerland, Finland’s YLE, NRK in Norway, and NPO in the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, HOT, ABC and RTS have also come on board as prebuyers for season two.
Produced by Cottonwood Media and Coolabi Productions and commissioned by ZDF Studios and BBC Children’s and Education, the show will encompass 23 24-minute episodes when season two wraps production.
“This is such an exciting, feel-good drama—the historical setting gives it real texture and richness, and the story is told with such a modern sensibility that it feels fresh and relatable today,” said Monica Levy, co-chief of distribution at Federation Kids & Family. “The universal themes, the wit, the sense of adventure—it all translates beautifully across markets. Working with our wonderful partners on this series is fantastic as we all share the same vision. Season one has been a genuine triumph since it launched a few months ago, with wonderful reviews pouring in, and the momentum keeps building—we’re in active negotiations on several fronts and can’t wait to share more exciting news very soon.”
Arne Lohmann, VP Junior at ZDF Studios, added: “The fantastic broadcaster response to The Lady Grace Mysteries highlights the enduring appeal of premium, character-driven storytelling for young audiences. Lady Grace is a smart, courageous, and relatable heroine whose adventures resonate across cultures and territories. We are delighted that so many leading broadcasters have embraced the series and are equally pleased to see early confidence in Season 2 through these pre-sales.”
