BBC Four Acquires Nordic Crime Series from Fremantle’s Miso Film

The Uniform, a Nordic crime series produced by Miso Film, has been licensed into the U.K. by Fremantle, with the six-parter set for BBC Four and BBC iPlayer.

The series, directed by Jonas Alexander Arnby, is set in a police academy in contemporary Denmark and stars Soheil Bavi, Marco Ilsø, Clara Rosager, and Lene Maria Christensen. It premiered on DR TV in February, landing a 47% share.

Jamie Lynn, EVP of co-production and distribution for EMEA, international, at Fremantle, said: “The Uniform delivers everything you’d want from a standout crime drama—complex characters, a tense coming-of-age story, and a fresh take on law enforcement that really sets it apart. Miso are true experts in their field and, alongside an exceptional creative team, have delivered a compelling series that has already performed incredibly well in Denmark, with ratings that speak for themselves. Given the success of Miso’s acclaimed titles The Investigation and Those Who Kill with BBC audiences, we’re confident this series will resonate just as strongly.”

Nick Lee, head of BBC program acquisition, added, “With its moral complexity and depth of character, The Uniform is a confident and deeply engaging drama. Audiences will be drawn into the world of elite rookie cops, all with that trademark Scandinavian prestige our viewers love.”
