Fremantle’s Red Planet Pictures has won the adaptation rights to It’s Not What You Think, the latest thriller from best-selling author Clare Mackintosh, arriving next month.
The adaptation will be led by Kam Odedra, whose credits include Hijack, Lupin, and All Her Fault. Red Planet billed the auction as a “highly competitive” one.
A former police officer, Mackintosh’s novels have sold more than 3 million copies worldwide and spent a combined total of 64 weeks in the Sunday Times bestseller lists.
“It’s Not What You Think is my most ambitious thriller yet,” Mackintosh said. “Red Planet Pictures’ vision and drive make them the perfect partner, and I couldn’t be more honoured to have Kam Odedra on board.”
