Another two seasons of the popular light-crime procedural Death in Paradise have been commissioned from Red Planet Pictures for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
“Death in Paradise is a global phenomenon, and we are incredibly proud to have it on the BBC, where it goes from strength to strength,” said Lindsay Salt, director of BBC Drama.
The BBC has ordered two seasons and two Christmas specials, with filming on season 16 now underway in Guadeloupe. The long-running show has been a strong global seller for BBC Studios, available in 230 markets. It has spun off two other successful shows: Beyond Paradise and Return to Paradise.
Red Planet Pictures, a Fremantle company, makes the series with the support of the region of Guadeloupe.
