VIII: Awakening, a mid-form premium fantasy adventure series that reimagines a Chinese mythological story, has wrapped production, with KC Global Media Asia rolling out the 24×15-minute show.
Billed as an “S-grade” drama in China, VIII: Awakening is made in partnership with CICC (China Intercontinental Communication Center) and Shanghai Qi’Ai. The first original production in China for KC Global Media Asia, VIII: Awakening stars Zhang Wan Ying, Leo Zhou, and Nick Shan.
Bonnie Wiryani, VP and head of content sales at KC Global Media Asia, noted, “Viewers are more and more interested in seeing local and cultural stories developed creatively, and VIII: Awakening has all the artistry, action, mystery, fantasy, and folklore that we believe will resonate widely.
