Mansa, the free streaming platform focused on global Black culture from David Oyelowo and Nate Parker, has unveiled a new hub for microdramas.
The hub is launching with original content, rolling out The Heiress, The Baller & The Secret Society, a 27-episode original vertical series. Exclusively available on the platform, it is produced by Parker and Ammon Lyle, directed by Byron Manuel, and stars Shala White, Cortney Elise, Justin Davis, and Diego Escobar.
Mansa currently delivers thousands of hours of films and series and 25-plus live TV channels. Additional vertical originals will be unveiled in the coming months.
“Vertical storytelling gives us the ability to deliver high-impact narratives that reflect modern viewing habits while still honoring the depth, nuance, and artistry our community deserves,” said Parker, co-founder and CEO of Mansa. “From the beginning, our mission has been to build a platform where Black creators globally can thrive and experiment. This new vertical experience opens the door to an entirely new creative frontier.”
The hub is available natively within the Mansa app in the U.S., U.K., Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, and Brazil. The slate will cover premium releases as well as opportunities for independent creators.
