TVE Acquires Banijay Rights’ A Woman of Substance

Banijay Rights has licensed The Forge’s A Woman of Substance reboot to TVE in Spain.

A Woman of Substance, adapted from the Barbara Taylor Bradford novel and recently renewed by Channel 4, will air in Spain this summer. The Spanish pubcaster also picked up the Italian drama Free Women (Libere Donne), a period psychological thriller from Endemol Shine Italy and Rai Fiction.

Marion Vergnaud, SVP of sales for Iberia and Italy, said, “This deal with TVE highlights the strong appetite for engaging, character‑driven drama across key European markets and it’s great to be partnering once again and building on our long‑standing relationship. We’re pleased to see both titles connecting so well with audiences and continuing to gather momentum internationally.”

A Woman of Substance has landed several sales for Banijay Rights, including BritBox North America, Foxtel and BINGE in Australia, TVNZ, NPO in the Netherlands, HRT, YLE, ETV, LTV, COSMOTE TV, RUV and CellCom, HOT and YES in Israel.
