The Competition and Markets Authority in the U.K. has cleared Paramount Skydance's acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, which remains stalled in the U.S. due to opposition from 12 states and the Writers Guild.

In a court filing, Paramount Skydance said the Warner Bros. Discovery takeover is on hold till the resolution of legal actions brought by the AGs of 12 U.S. states and the Writers Guild of America.

The European Commission has approved Paramount Skydance's takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery, with conditions attached when it comes to film distribution operations.

The U.S. Department of Justice's antitrust division has wrapped its investigation into the acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery by Paramount Skydance, determining that it doesn't harm competition or American consumers across SVOD, linear, and content distribution and production.

The gaming studios at Paramount and Skydance, including Skydance Interactive and Skydance New Media, are being unified under a single Paramount Games Studio segment, led by Tony Driscoll as president.
