Three digital-first series from the food and lifestyle studio Simple Alien will get the Chronicle treatment, with the outfit using its AI-powered platform to help scale the reach of the productions.
The partnership covers the hit food and lifestyle program Chewed Up, fashion rewatch series Why’d They Wear That? and the upcoming cooking series Simply Symons.
Chewed Up is created and hosted by Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly, and Michael Symon. Since its YouTube launch in October, it has signed up more than 70,000 subscribers. It is accompanied by a dedicated FAST channel on LG.
Aided by Chronicle’s audience discovery, optimization, and micro-targeting technology, the series has nearly doubled its monthly viewers, seeing a gain in watch hours, and daily revenues. Chronicle is also working on Why’d They Wear That? with Stacy London alongside Clinton Kelly and Simply Symons.
“Creator-based culinary, lifestyle, and fashion content is among the most in-demand categories on YouTube and resonates strongly with digital-first audiences that matter to advertisers,” said Aaron Sisto, co-founder and CEO of Chronicle, who recently appeared on ScreenMDM Talks with Scott Greenberg. “Marissa and Nick bring a fresh approach to producing content for today’s multiplatform ecosystem, and Carla, Clinton, Michael, and Stacy each have passionate fan bases that will continue to grow as Chronicle connects even more valuable untapped audiences to their shows.”
“Building a digital network that breaks through takes three things: talent, distribution, and discovery,” added Nick Panagopulos, president, and Marissa Ronca, chief content officer, at Simple Alien. “We’ve built Simple Alien around the first two. Chronicle completes the equation. They don’t just find an audience—they find the right audience. Fans who watch, not scroll, and who come back multiple times a week.”
