As part of its “More Than a TV Channel” strategy, Welsh public broadcaster S4C will issue an open call in October seeking digital-first takes on some of its most popular productions.
S4C’s open tender process will seek pitches for the current affairs show Pawb a’i Farn, the singing competition Cân i Gymru, live broadcasts from Urdd Eisteddfod and various agricultural competitions, and the hymn singing and worship series Dechrau Canu Dechrau Canmol. The tenders will cover the period from 2028 onwards.
Llion Iwan, S4C’s chief content officer, said, “The decision to open these commissions to tender reflects our commitment to maintaining a healthy, competitive and creative production sector in Wales. Each of these programs holds significant cultural value and plays an important role in celebrating Welsh life, language and communities. We are looking forward to seeing proposals that respect the strength of these established brands while bringing fresh thinking and creative ambition for the future.”
