Y+X Entertainment, founded by Vivian Yin, is set to launch LumiView, a new platform for premium vertical video, this August.
Yin aims to tackle the challenges of microdrama space with the new platform, including the investment required to acquire paid users, IP retention, and limited franchise growth.
LumiView will operate with an IP-first development strategy and is building an infrastructure to align with creators as it places franchise-building at the core of its positioning.
“Rather than prioritizing volume, LumiView emphasizes story architecture, franchise viability, and cross-platform scalability,” the company said in announcing the new platform.
“Vertical is not a shortcut to attention,” Yin said. “It is a structural shift in storytelling. The next phase will belong to those who build infrastructure around IP, around creators, and around long-term franchise value, rather than simply scaling volume. LumiView has already completed an initial slate of pilot productions across multiple formats, validating its production engine and global creative workflows. With these pilots in place, the company is now ramping up production for its first wave of series as we prepare for platform launch.”
The platform is gearing up to unveil a “vertical storytelling bible” highlighting its priorities for premium vertical development and will issue a call to creators for properties with franchise development potential.
