Legacy Nelvana Brands Score New Licensing Pacts

Classic kids’ and family IP from the Nelvana library, including Babar and Max & Ruby, have secured new licensing partnerships across categories like apparel and home decor.

Undiz has launched a Babar-inspired apparel collection in France. Babar is co-licensed with The Clifford Ross Company. Max & Ruby, Pippi Longstocking, Maurice Sendak’s Little Bear, and Franklin the Turtle feature in new adult apparel collections from Retrokid in North America. Rowing Blazers has released a Babar capsule collection, while Aykroyds & Sons is developing apparel for retail distribution this year. Print-on-demand apparel and accessories for Max & Ruby, Pippi Longstocking, and Maurice Sendak’s Little Bear will be available from Trevco. Max & Ruby, Maurice Sendak’s Little Bear, and Franklin the Turtle sleepwear and loungewear collections are coming from Ploom Baby. Little Van Gogh’s is launching a Babar wall art collection. Babar, Max & Ruby, Maurice Sendak’s Little Bear, and Franklin the Turtle needlepoint canvases and accessories land from Penny Linn in 2027.

“These partnerships reflect the enduring emotional connection audiences have with Nelvana’s classic brands,” said Carly Slack, director of global licensing, retail, and marketing at Nelvana. “By collaborating with best-in-class partners across fashion, lifestyle, and specialty categories, we’re creating meaningful, high-quality products that allow fans to rediscover the stories they grew up with in new and relevant ways.”
