Boat Rocker Studios has greenlit its first fully financed animated series, Nano Runners, created by Industrial Brothers’ co-founder Matthew Fernandes.
Set to be presented at MIPCOM, the 26×11-minute series is targeted at kids 6-plus. Boat Rocker Studios and its Industrial Brothers animation studio are producing. It is expected to be available in 2027, with Boat Rocker handling distribution, global franchise development and consumer products.
“It’s been a little over a year since Boat Rocker Studios returned to private ownership and refocused our strategy on IP development and ownership,” said Jon Rutherford, president of global content and rights at Boat Rocker Studios. “This project, from the immensely talented mind of Matt Fernandes, is exactly the type of project we want to be investing in. We’re excited to combine the ingenuity and creativity of Matt and Industrial Brothers, with Boat Rocker’s best-in-class production, distribution and franchise management expertise to present something wholly unique to the marketplace at MIPCOM.”
The series is being written and story-edited by Craig Martin (Sonic Prime) and executive produced by Boat Rocker Studios co-founders Ivan Schneeberg and David Fortier alongside Rutherford and Industrial Brothers’ Fernandes and Tammy Semen.
